The Stuyvesant High School Online Course Guide

This course is open to Juniors and Seniors. We will study improvisation, how to write play reviews, do voice work, conduct critical analysis of performance, read plays as literature and explore various methods of acting through scene study and text analysis. The ability to work with others, excellent attendance reliability, and an interest in performing are necessary.

The classroom format will include lecture, presentation, group work, examples, and discussion on technique. Students will write at least 5 papers. Students must be free to attend evening theatre 3-5 times per semester. For assessment, all papers and scenes must be satisfactory, and reviews of plays must be completed. The culminating project is a requirement for all students enrolled in E7 or E8.

An English average of at least 88% is required to be accepted into the class.
