Who should take this
course?
Students who would like to improve
their reading, writing, and speaking abilities in the French language.
What will we be studying?
Students are
introduced to French literature with works such as Sartre's Huis
Clos, Ionesco's Rhinoceros, Moliere's L'Avare,
Balzac's Le Colonel Chabert, Beaumarchais', Le Barbier
de Seville as they engage in learning techniques of literary analysis.
This class also prepares students interested in taking the Advanced Placement French
Language Exam and the French SATII.
What will be expected of
me?
As in any course, the student will
be expected to complete homework assignments, study for exams, and participate in class discussions.
How is the course taught?
The course is taught entirely in
French. We mostly have discussions based on reading assignments.
What are the completion
requirements?
Students have to complete
daily work and pass exams. Class participation is very important since this is a conversation class.
Details and
pre/co-requisites:
Any student who has completed French
6 with at least an 85 average may elect this course, or special permission from the teacher.
Students who have completed French 6 and need one more year to complete their requirement
will automatically be programmed for FF7X.
This is a full year course. If you enroll in FF7X in the
fall, you will automatically be programmed for FF8X in the spring.
