Who should take this
course?
This course is intended for students
who want to continue with their studies and improve their reading,
writing, and speaking abilities in Hebrew.
What will we be studying?
Hebrew In Level IV, students are
introduced to complex grammatical structures, as well as to Modern
Hebrew Literature. Among the authors who will be covered are Amos Oz,
A. B. Yehoshua, Ahad Ha'am and Anton Shammas.
What will be expected of
me?
The student will be expected to
complete homework assignments (usually reading and pertinent
questions), to study for examinations and to participate in class
discussions.
How is the course taught?
The course is taught primarily in
Hebrew. Students are encouraged to use Hebrew as much as possible. We
also try to incorporate some outside activities related to
Hebrew-language culture.
What are the completion
requirements?
Students are expected to complete
daily work and pass examinations. The work-load is no more demanding
than any other Stuyvesant course.
Details and
pre/co-requisites:
Any student who has completed Hebrew
6 or the equivalent may elect to take this course.
Hebrew Level IV is a one year course. By enrolling in FH7 in the fall
you will automatically be programmed for FH8 in the
spring.
