Intermediate String Techniques US2PIT

Who Should take this course?

This is a one-year course is the entering level for students selected to be in the orchestra (string) program.

What will we be studying?

The main objective of the course is to improve instrumental skills. It is expected that by the end of this one-year course, students will be able to perform intermediate ensemble pieces with good intonation, tone production, phrasing, dynamics, and expression.

How is the course taught?

Classes meet daily for a full credit. Students are expected to attend on time, daily, and prepared, unless legally excused.

Are there any special demands, costs, etc.?

Students are expected to support the Music Department by helping to sell tickets to, and attending, Department events.

Details and pre/co-requisites:

Successful completion of this one-year course will fulfill the Music Appreciation (U1) requirement. Acceptance into the orchestra program is by audition only.
