Readings in the Theory of Personality SRTP

This is a one-term course offered for Seniors only. The course will center on reading works in the original literature of personality theory. Some of the theorists to be read might include: Freud, Jung, Rogers and Skinner. The class will be discussion-based. Examinations will be based on readings and discussion. The student will be expected to write three papers - one per marking period. The student will read the assigned texts. The class will discuss the meaning of the readings. The goal will be to understand how each of the theorist's mind works. Students who have taken a psychology course or are considering majoring in psychology will be given first preference for selection. This course can be used to fulfill your Senior Elective Requirement only, NOT your Science Elective Requirement. Pre-requisite for the course is A.P. Psychology (SFX1, SFX2) and admission is by interview only (please see Mr. Farbstein).
