This course is for students who have a science career as a goal. Besides the Regents Biology course, students perform additional advanced laboratory exercises such as chromosomal staining, biochemical projects, and dissections of fish, frog and fetal pig. SUB1, SUB2 requires the students to choose and perform a science research project that tests the effects of various environmental or chemical changes on a variety of microorganisms or insects. Entrance to this class is by selection from the Entrance Exam in the Fall term and by teacher recommendation in the Spring. The class meets for a double period each day. SUB2 credits the student as a prerequisite for A.P. Biology.
