Who should take this course?
This course can be elected in place of Regents Chemistry by students who meet departmental qualification criteria listed below.

What will we be studying?
Enriched Regents Chemistry 1 and 2. Qualitative Analysis and participation in a research project.

What will be expected of me?
Double period class every day.

How is the course taught?
Some days there is a 2 period lesson. Other days there is laboratory work. On the average 2 laboratory days each week.

What are the completion requirements?
Two grades are given. One is Regents Chemistry 1 and 2. The other is based on research project and qualitative analysis results.

Are there any special demands, costs, etc.?
Same as any Chemistry class plus a combination lock to keep Qualitative Analysis equipment.

Details and pre/co-requisites:
This course is an alternate to SC1 and SC2. Students must have achieved a minimum 95% average in Mathematics. MQ5/MQ6 is a pre or co-requisite. You will be expected to submit a group research project. The Chemistry Regents Examination must be taken in June.
