Honors Mathematics MB31H, MB32H, MB33H, MM81H, MM82H,

MB31H is an accelerated MB31 class that is replete with enrichment topics in geometry and begins Intermediate Algebra.

MB32H and MB33H-Continues Intermediate Algebra with enrichment topics. Students are required to submit a research paper to the NYC Math Fair and participate in the American Mathematical Competition. Students will take the Math B Regents in June.

MM81H and MM82H-Precalculus-Students are required to submit a research paper to the NYC Math Fair and participate in the American Mathematical Competition. Advanced topics in problem solving are taught here and students are prepared for the challenges that await them in Calculus, Multivariate Calculus and Differential Equations.

Students in this honors Math sequence will be required to participate in the American Mathematics Competition, a 75 minute examination that is sponosored by the American Mathematical Association. This national examination will be administered during school hours and students will incur no expense for taking this examination. The 25 question short answer examination is offered on 2 grade levels. The AMC-10 is for students in the 9th and 10th grades while the AMC-12 is for students in grades 11 and 12.
