Who should take this
course?
Students who have completed
Stuyvesant's computer science sequence or have demonstrated
sufficient knowledge to pursue a college level independent study in
computer science.
What will we be studying?
This course enables advanced
students to study computer science beyond the scope of previous
courses. Possible topics include compiler design, artificial
intelligence, operating system design, and networks.
What will be expected of
me?
Students will be required to submit
papers and/or projects based on their research.
How is the course taught?
This course is organized as an
independent study. Students will meet with the teacher on a regular
basis to receive guidance, direction, and resources. Students will do
much of the research on their own time.
Details and
pre/co-requisites:
MJX2, MCS5, and MCS6 or the
chairman's permission. This course is available during both the fall
and spring semesters.
