The Stuyvesant High School Online Course Guide

Computer Science (Intel) Research ML6R5, ML7R5

This class guides students who are interested in computer science through the preparation of a research paper suitable for submission to the Intel Science Talent Search. Objectives of the course include choosing an appropriate specialization topic through student- teacher consultation, research techniques, oral presentation of research.

Submission of an Intel project and paper are required to receive credit for this course. This course is open only to Juniors, who may apply for admission to the class in the Fall term.

The course will meet for two single-period terms because of the lengthy process of writing and debugging computer programming code and the necessity for the students to learn many of the advanced tools which are required for such an endeavor.

This two term, single period course will fulfill the 10 period Technology requirement only upon the successful completion and timely submission of an Intel Science Talent Search project. This course begins in the spring term (ML6R5) - Juniors only, and concludes in the Fall term (ML7R5).
