SMALL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT (HFSB)

 

Take a ride on the business cycle and learn how the individual firm really functions in the larger economy. Enjoy the elation of the good times and the depression of the bad and see how your company fares as a result of the decisions you make.

 

Who should take this course?

Anyone interested in business and economics that would like a hands on feel for what happens during the course of setting up and running a small business in a competitive environment will find this class interesting.

 

How is the course taught?

Students will engage in business simulation in which they will manage simulated companies, make real business decisions while competing with each other for highest profit, market share and stock price.

 

What will I learn?

You will learn how to make economic and business decisions in a competitive environment, time management skills, accounting for business records, how to read and use financial and market reports and learn how to plan and execute a successful marketing plan.

 

Details and Pre-Requisites

Open to student grades 10 - 12. This is an ELECTIVE course and does not replace the required Economics course. Single term only.
