Robotics Engineering TNPPRTA

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE?

The Robotics Engineering Course is an elective that satisfies the Senior Technology Education requirement for graduation. This course is also open to students as an elective. Anyone who is interested in Robotics, Computer Science, or in the computerized control of processes and machines should strongly consider this course. Robotics will be extremely useful for students considering the engineering or scientific research fields, as robots and computer controlled tools and machines are playing an ever-increasing role. Students interested in participating in the FIRST Robotics Competition will also benefit from this course.

WHAT WILL WE BE STUDYING?

WHAT WILL BE EXPECTED OF ME?

You will be expected to maintain a laboratory notebook; successfully complete the assigned problems and projects; work safely and effectively on an individual and group basis.

HOW IS THE COURSE TAUGHT?

Lecture, recitation, laboratory and demonstration formats will be used along with hands on practice and experimentation. Students will work in teams and individually to solve problems and are expected to research and report as necessary. We will be using equipment and components similar to those used in the FIRST Competition.

WHAT ARE THE COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS?

Students must successfully complete the assigned problems and projects, maintain a laboratory notebook, as well as obtaining satisfactory grades on class exams.

DETAILS AND PRE/CO-REQUISITIES:

Technical Drawing/CAD are pre-requisites for this course. The course is offered only in the fall semester.
