Dear Stuyvesantians,

It is with a great sadness that I bid farewell to the Stuyvesant High School community. I first came to Stuyvesant in 1972, and in the intervening years, the faculty and students of this great school have become a second family to me.

In September 2000, I will take over as Assistant Principal, Science at Townsend Harris High School at Queens College. I look forward to the challenges that face me. I will bring to that position the many things I have learned during my years at Stuyvesant, from my colleagues and my students.

There is a saying in the Pirkei Avot:

"Much wisdom have I learned from my teachers,

more still from my colleagues

and most of all from my students."

I thank you for all you have taught me, and I will always remember you fondly and I hope we stay in touch.

You may contact me at Townsend Harris High School, my email is sbruste@nycboe.net or you can reach me at home at brusteis@optonline.net.
