Advanced Placement, Courses Requiring Departmental Approval,

Listed below, by subject area, are all of the academic courses for which special departmental criteria must be satisfied, and for which on-line application is necessary.

Current Juniors Only: Ten Period Technology Lab Course Options are listed below in a separate section. The term in which the Ten Period Technology Lab is scheduled will determine how many periods remain for other classes. Placement for both Fall and Spring Terms will be made at this time. Placement information (including term) will be made available during Phase 2 of online programming in April.

NOTE: It is advisable to take only one of the following in a term: SBX3. SCX3, SPX1 or SPX3. All of these year-long courses meet two periods a day and thus involve a significant commitment. List alternates only if you wish to be considered for them should you not be accepted to your 1st choice elective. If you do not wish to be considered for another course, all other choices within this section must read "NONE" (the default choice).

NOTE 1: Applications for AP Economics and AP Government will be made at this time ONLY. We will NOT be soliciting applications for any AP courses in the fall for the Spring, 2001 semester.
NOTE 2: Students may apply for both Advanced Placement Macro Economics (H8XA) and Advanced Placement Micro Economics (H8XI) . Students choosing to take both of these courses, will of necessity, be doubling up in History for one semester.
NOTE 3: Students who "double up", must request a program which will be able to fit within the confines of a school day without the need to postpone any required courses. Required courses may not be postponed to make space for an elective course.

NOTE 1: Students may only apply for one of the following: MAXA, MAXX, MECA. Apply for the most difficult course for which you would like to be considered. Should you be ineligible for that course, please apply again, and select the next most challenging course.
NOTE 2: Students in MQ6 or ME1H who are considering the possibility of "doubling up" in Pre-Calculus and either MAXX/MAXY or MAXA/MAXB must apply for this privilege through their current Math teacher.
